OVER 18? yep
IC BITS
NAME: YorHa Unit No. 2, Type A (A2, No. 2)
AGE: her model appears 20-30, but as an android she doesn’t do a great job at keeping track.
SPECIES: android
CANON: NieR: Automata
CANON POINT: just before her final battle with 9s in the tower.
ANY PHYSICAL CHANGES? nope!
QUESTIONNAIRE: Answer two of the following:
- How do you sleep at night? With lots of pillows, buried in blankets, drenched in the blood of your enemies?
A2 would have insisted once upon a time that of course she rests in the remains of her machine lifeform enemies, but she has a lot less claim to that level of vitriol now. She might still have her hangups admitting as much, but realistically she can appreciate a bit more of what the world has to offer. Maybe she’d even rest against a windowsill and look out on the horizon now. Funny, that.
- If you could go back in time to change one thing, what would it be? Why?
A2 (aka No. 2) spent a good chunk of time believing that No. 1 would have been a better leader during their initial squad descent to destroy the machine server. She wished that she could have died in No. 1’s place, and similar feelings of guilt arose whenever one of her teammates or allies were killed. As the sole survivor of her team and one of two overall survivors from the alliance (herself and Anemone), she might have argued that her survival here was yet another mistake. Why should she have lived when so many others had not?
At her current point, however, she regrets the attachments she has made to former enemies (machine lifeforms), the kindness she has shown to 2b by mercifully killing her, and most of all, she regrets not recognizing the little tidbits of beauty and humanity that are still present in the world. A2 had spent so much time under the thumb of YorHa and as a rogue unit that she was so rarely granted her own agency to choose. Surely, she would love to have been able to change that and live the sort of idyllic life she knows only from the human memories implanted within her.
She regrets these things because, as these things often do, they came too late.
